Two CBS RADIO stations have been awarded 2014 National Edward R. Murrow Awards by The Radio Television Digital News Association. KCBS 6pm News in San Francisco received one of the top awards for “Best Newscast” among all large market radio stations. Additionally, WBZ-AM, Boston received recognition for “Best Continuing Coverage” for their informative and vital coverage during the tragic Boston Marathon Bombing.
The Edward R. Murrow Awards recognize outstanding achievements in electronic journalism, paying respect to Edward R. Morrow and the spirit of excellence that he made standard for the broadcast news profession since 1971. This significant accomplishment is among the highest in the broadcast medium and sets the standard for the industry at large.
