All Regular Season Wolves Games to be Broadcast on 830 WCCO

The Minnesota Timberwolves and CBS RADIO’s 830 WCCO-AM today announced they have signed a new multi-year radio partnership beginning with the team’s upcoming 2015-16 season. Under the partnership, WCCO will continue as the team’s flagship radio station, a designation it has held since the 2011-12 NBA season.

As the radio home of Timberwolves basketball, WCCO will broadcast all of the team’s 82 regular season games this season. Alan Horton returns for his ninth season as the Wolves play-by-play announcer and will team up with studio host John Focke to produce the 30-minute pre- and post-game shows that are featured on-air and streamed online at www.wcco.com for every game. The agreement also includes additional programming and promotional elements throughout the year.

“WCCO has been a great radio home for the Timberwolves, and we’re excited to continue our great partnership with them,” said Timberwolves President Chris Wright. “The station has a great history and knowledge of Minnesota basketball, and with one of the largest coverage areas in the country, WCCO is able to bring the excitement of Timberwolves basketball to fans and listeners throughout Minnesota.”

“We truly value our partnership with the Wolves and are excited to continue our relationship,” said Mick Anselmo, Senior Vice President/Market Manager, CBS RADIO Minneapolis. “This is an NBA franchise on the upswing, and a perfect marriage with 830 WCCO-AM and the unparalleled signal coverage it provides to the Upper Midwest.”

830 WCCO-AM staff includes Dave Lee, who has extensively covered Minnesota basketball throughout his career, Chad Hartman (the voice of the Timberwolves from 1990 to 2006), and Mike Max (long-time Minnesota sports reporter and anchor). And nobody knows NBA basketball better than NBA Hall of Famer, Sid Hartman.

The Wolves regular season begins on the road against the L.A. Lakers on Wednesday, Oct. 28. Visit Timberwolves.com for the team’s full season and broadcast schedule.
